A very interesting and impactful event

The 3rd Corfu Symposium on Managing & Marketing Places heard presentations from 36 authors, with delegates representing 28 institutions from 15 countries across Europe, the USA, the Middle East and the Far East.

You can read the reflections on the event and brief abstracts from each academic and practitioner presentation here, and thanks to our wonderful photographer Ian Southerin, you can take a look at more images in a short video that captured the atmosphere of our fantastic event.

The Mayor of Corfu Municipality, Mr Konstantinos Nikolouzos, welcomed delegates to his office to discuss with us some of the challenges facing tourism developments on the island in this time of economic crisis. We also talked about some of the opportunities this annual event has now created to engage the internationally renowned experts the Symposium has attracted to engage with policy makers and practitioners to enable positive change for the island’s tourism developments.

A great attraction of the Symposium is the chance for delegates to get together and discuss ideas, meet practitioners and policy makers, and also to visit sites of interest and craft producers of local speciality products.

Our congratulations go to the authors who won our best paper prizes Dr Julia Fallon, Michael M Edwards and Aggelos Panayiotopoulos

The organising team would like to thank everyone to attended, also our sponsors and supporters, for making this such a very interesting, impactful, and also such a fun event.
