Would you like to understand how place management is developing and ensure you can be most effective in your role? Why not join us for a one day introductory session that explores place reputation management, introduces the content of our post-graduate courses in Place Management and Leadership and develops your skills.
The Institute of Place Management at Manchester Metropolitan University offers a suite of postgraduate programmes to support place managers develop their strategic insight and leadership skills, to enable them to improve the places that they work in.
The Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters of Science in Place Management and Development are unique programmes of part-time study, based upon 30 years of international research into district, town, city and regional place management and development.
The next intake for our postgraduate programme will be January 2019, and to introduce new and potential students to the benefits, content, tutors and demands of postgraduate study we are offering a one-day introductory course.
The aim of the one-day course is to introduce you to the type of subjects you will study and demonstrate how the course will help you do your job more effectively. We will also cover some of the skills needed to study at postgraduate level.

Cathy Parker is Professor of Retail and Marketing and Chair of the Institute of Place Management. Cathy has been leading research projects understanding the changing nature of high streets, town and city centres for 20 years. She is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Place Management.
Simon Quin is a former economic development consultant and was a Town Centre Manager for 10 years. He is a graduate of this course and is now an Institute Director who works closely with practitioners and policy makers to develop effective policy frameworks for place management to work.
Ares Kalandides is Professor of Place Management and a director of the Institute of Place Management. He is the founder and CEO of the Berlin-based consulting business Inpolis urbanism which has offered services to municipalities, regions and states worldwide for over two decades.
