Being ranked in six subject areas shows how interdisciplinary the JPMD is, making it a good publishing outlet for scholars wanting to reach a wide academic audience. In four of the six subject categories, JPMD is in the top quartile for geography, planning and development; tourism, leisure and hospitality management; urban studies and business and international marketing. The journal makes it into the upper quartile of tourism, leisure and hospitality management journals for the first time.
The rise in the two-year impact factor shows the quality of the journal is improving – as papers are being cited more frequently.
The Editors hope the improvement in the journal’s standing will encourage more academics and practitioners to submit their best research findings and professional insight to the JPMD.
